Artist Antonina Sofia Sociu, a relevant presence in Paris

The artist Antonina Sofia Sociu managed to assert herself from her first stage appearances, from her first exposures through the way she masters plastic means, subsuming them to a profound philosophical message. The plastician managed to capture aspects of life from a perspective that manages to combine in an original and ingenious way the psychological analysis with the aesthetic transposition of the profound themes she highlights in her creation.
Her adventurous and fascinating trip to Paris, where she exhibited in September, highlighted the personality of this artist who represented through her exhibition a particularly pleasant surprise for the audience there by presenting inspired and revealing works through concept and plastic achievement.
“My journey, to and from Paris, in a 3.5 tonne, 7 m long, 3.2 m high camper car, revealed sides of myself that I still look at with exuberance and pride. Sometimes it only takes an open-hearted journey to discover the unsuspected resources of inspiration and strength that lie within us. Thus, Paris was for me not only a charming city where I exhibited my works, but also a powerful metaphor of personal transformation, a lesson about not sacrificing my authenticity to meet the expectations of others or to conform to predetermined patterns. Paris reinforced my idea of courageously expressing my own vision and pursuing my passions in complete harmony with my authentic self. I exhibited with a heart full of gratitude. The series of paintings that I viscerally felt and called “Becoming”, partially presented in Paris, with canvases in which I find myself in every brush and every shade, is the beginning of my artistic journey, a series that brings to the fore echoes of the passion of my indomitable soul.” – said artist Antonina Sofia Sociu.
Reflective, but also of great spiritual sensitivity, the artist surprises and incites the viewer in her turn to reflection through her creations in which she expresses herself through an abstract expressionist approach, in which personal experiences are highlighted through a total connection and synthesized in stages until they acquire that universality that gives them meaning and value.
Doubled by a poetic structure, the artist has the ability to see beyond the outer shell of appearances, probing the inner universe of all aspects revealed to the smallest details in her desire to essentialize and render the verisimilitude of possible meanings.
The artist lives with intensity the moment of creation detached from pure experience as a form of authentic knowledge, and her desire to share it is transmitted through each of her works.
Works such as “Passionate Fantasy”, “Monologue”, “Reborn in the Abyss”, “Acceptance”, “The Ecstasy of Femininity” or “Untamed Soul” are disturbing creations through the force of expression and message. The ardour, the mystery, the passion that become the driving force for creation and exploration, the introspection in which the soul finds itself in dialogue with itself, the power to be reborn from the chaos of uncertainties are, as the artist Antonina Sofia Sociu herself confesses, highlighting the connection with her own source of tranquility and harmony obtained through this process of therapeutic transformation that painting represents.
From a stylistic point of view, we can observe in the artist’s painting a genuine eurythmy of signs and symbols, as well as the essentialization of ideas or archetypes, refined, imperceptible crossings from one pictorial area to another, a rhythm of the imaging field in consonance with her poetic nature, the manner in which scenes from the graphic field are admirably resolved in the structure of the image. The artist rationalizes the mental projection on the canvas, transferring emotion in a subtle way into the space of the created image.
Through exploration, analysis and self-discovery, the artist demonstrates that one can reach the regeneration of the human being by rediscovering one’s own creative potential in relation to knowing the meanings of life.
In Paris, her creations impressed and amazed a refined public with a practiced eye in the area of fine art precisely by the sincerity of the plastic approach and feelings, by the manner of realization, but also by her spirit as a complex artist who managed to outline a style and support her vision at conceptual level.
The entire approach of the plastic artist Antonina Sofia Sociu represents a plea for highlighting the role of art as a form of regeneration of the human being following the challenges or complex experiences of existence, for the joy of overcoming suffering and contemplating the beauty around us.
